Mohammed Malas
(1945 - )
Born in Damascus in 1945, Malas graduated form the Cinema Institute
of Moscow in 1974. While still as student in 1972, he directed Ahlam
madina (City’s Dreams). His next film was based on this short film,
which centers on dreams, memory and the city. Both his films have
won awards.

Synopsis: Set in Damascus in the 1950s, the film follows tumultuous
political changes, and societal changes through the eyes of a child.
