Nasser Soumi

(1948 - )

Nasser Soumi was born in
Palestine in 1948. He studied Fine Arts in Damascus and Paris. His work has been shown at the Tokyo Museum, the Madrid National Museum, and the Paris Institut du Monde Arabe, Tunis Museum of Modern Art, the French National Fund for Contemporary Art, the Paris Bibliotheque Nationale, and the Baghdad National Museum.

In his work he assembles handmade or eclectic objects, transforming ordinary materials and items into works of art. He used blue in different tones of indigo to evoke seafaring and movement.


Soumi currently lives and works in Paris, France.
