Salam was born in Tamra, in western Galilee, Palestine, in 1979. He started his art studies under the supervision of the Palestinian artist Ibrahim Hijazi. He then received his degree in Fine Arts & Education at Oranim Academy College – Tiva’on in 2002. He is a member of Ibdaa’, the Association of Palestinian Artists in Israel. Salam has participated in several solo and group exhibitions locally and internationally. He recently received the Creation Encouragement and Excellence prize from Oranim College.
